Languedoc-Rousillon
With its eastern border following the Mediterranean Sea’s coastline, Languedoc-Rousillon is the single largest wine-producing region in the world and is responsible for over one-third of France’s total wine production. The first vineyards were planted by the Greeks in the 5th century BCE, and are, there for, the oldest planted vineyards of France.
