DOMAINE FOND CROZE
FRANCE  /  RHÔNE VALLEY

THE FAMILY

DOMAINE FOND CROZE is the culmination of the work of three generations of the Long family.  CHARLES LONG first purchased his property in the RHÔNE region after returning home after World War One.

His son Raymond expanded the vineyards and today the grand-sons BRUNO (the winemaker) and DANIEL (the vineyard manager) have taken the reins - - truly a family winemaking story.

The Vineyards

The 158-acre Domaine spans the CÔTES DU RHÔNE, CÔTES DU RHÔNE-VILLAGES and RASTEAU appellations, with vines of over 50 years of age, planted to clay and limestone slopes with pebbles.  The Mediterrranean climate produces lots of sunshine, almost no rain, and with the Mistral wind having a drying effect on the vines, helping to avoid excess moisture.

The Winemaking Philosophy

DOMAINE FOND CROZE is a top-notch estate that typifies what is happening in the southern Rhône - Robert Parker

For the past few years the family has been working with the brilliant consulting winemaker, PHILIPPE CAMBIE, whose philosophy is to maximize the expression of the magnificent terroir. Moreover, in 2009 the Long family converted all vineyards completely to or ganic farming – agriculture biologique.
