The Mignon family comes from a line of wine growers from Mesnil-le-Huttier, a small hamlet located a few miles from Epernay, the capitol city of Champagne. In 1995, Bruno Mignon, the latest generation of the family, created Champagne Charles Mignon, based in Epernay. They own a vineyard in Chouilly, a “Grand Cru” listed village, as well as a vineyard planted on the prestigious soils of the Vallee de la Marne.
Vinification takes place in small stainless steel tanks, with a systematic malolactic fermentation. The wines are then aged for a minimum of three years in the Mignon cellars prior to bottling.
The Winemaking Philosophy
" A line of wine-growers has preceded Bruno and Laurence Mignon, the creating couple of Champagne Charles Mignon. It is by transmission from mothers to daughters, from wives to husbands, from fathers to sons, that Champagne Charles Mignon today has the capacity to turn a moment into an unforgettable experience. With labour value as legacy, Laurence and Bruno united their fates, their taste for adventure and entrepreneurship. This is how Champagne Charles Mignon was born, in Epernay. "
